Book Chapter 12: Extraterrestrials

Kingdom Secret: Accept that God is God and we are not God. God can, and has created a reality that may not be what we expect.

Discussion: 

· Have you ever encountered an angel?

· Do you believe in demons?

· Can angels help us?

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV)

To which of the angels did God ever say, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet”? Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? (Heb 1:13-14 NIV)

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Eph 6:12 ESV)

Kingdom Secret: Taken together, your thoughts make up your character. The posture of your heart determines how you and the Holy Spirit within you manage your library of thoughts.

Discussion: 

· What did Jesus mean when he said we must have eyes to see and ears to hear?

· How do we get these eyes and ears?

· What is the Holy Spirit doing in us?

Kingdom Secret: Satan is real, and resisting him is essential.

Discussion: 

· Why does God allow Satan to wreak havoc? 

· How can we even believe in a benevolent God when the world is such a mess? What can we do about it?

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (Eph. 6:10-12 ESV)

Kingdom Secret: God’s kingdom does not work like the world’s economy, and the Church is not for our entertainment.

Discussion: 

· Why does God want us to gather together as a church? 

· Why are there so many different kinds of Christian churches competing for Christians?

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Heb. 10:24-25)
